As Prime Minister, Mr. Martin and his government reached an historic consensus with Canada's provinces, territories, First Nations, Métis and Inuit leaders that would eliminate the gaps between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Canadians in the areas of health, education, housing and economic opportunity. Since leaving office, he has been active on the national and international stage in forging dialogue and action on environmental, aboriginal and social justice issues. | | |

| | Buffy Ste-Marie | | | Buffy Ste-Marie was a graduating college senior in 1962 and hit the ground running in the early Sixties… after the beatniks and before the hippies! All alone, she toured North America's colleges, reservations and concert halls, meeting both huge acclaim and huge misperception from audiences and record companies who expected Pocahontas in fringes, and instead were both entertained and educated with their initial dose of Native American reality in the first person.
She made 18 albums of her music, three of her own television specials, scored movies, garnered international acclaim, helped to found Canada's Music of Aboriginal Canada JUNO category, raised a son, earned a Ph.D. in Fine Arts, taught Digital Music as adjunct professor at several colleges, and won an Academy Award Oscar and a Golden Globe Award for the song Up Where We Belong. | | |

Kelley has made his name connecting with Canadians. Whether he was spending seven days as a teacher in a struggling B.C. school, or living in a homeless shelter in Montreal, Kelley goes one step further to get the stories that matter to Canadians. He has been front and centre for some of the most dramatic stories in recent memory--reporting from the frontlines of the Great Ice Storm in Montreal in 1998, to anchoring the coverage of the crash of Swissair Flight 111 in Halifax, to the attacks of September 11 when he was host of CBC News: Morning.
Kelley has won three Gemini awards for his live coverage and documentary work for CBC News: Disclosure and CBC News: The National.
